Volvo claims it’s the quickest luxury EV to have sold out so quickly. The entire lot of 150 units of the XC40 Recharge was sold out in just two hours since the bookings began at 11 am on July 27th.
The Volvo XC40 recharge is priced at Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and gets a twin motor set up with AWD as standard. The XC40 Recharge gets a 78kWh battery pack that supports up to 150kW fast charging and is suitable for an ARAI-certified range of 418km on a single charge.
Volvo plans to start delivery by October 2022. The deliveries for the first 150 units will be wrapped up by December 2022. Volvo will continue taking bookings for the XC40 Recharge, and customers will be allotted vehicles from subsequent batches.
Commenting on this, Jyoti Malhotra, Volvo MD, said, “Our strategy of showcasing the car across our business partner locations and giving the prospective customers in these cities the opportunity to drive the XC40 Recharge has helped them customers in deciding.”
