Anees Ahmed, general secretary of the Popular Front of India, or PFI, told that his organization has been “strongly opposed to the government’s anti-Muslim policy, trying to infuse the strength among Muslims to demand their constitutional rights.” So, efforts are being made to brand us a criminal and terrorist organization.”
Patna Police has said that during a raid in the city it found the PFI document, ‘India 2047, Towards the Islamic Government’. According to the police, “It is said to crush the majority community with the help of a group of Muslims and restore the glory of Islam in India.”
In the FIR of Patna Police, it has been said that the document also mentions that he would get help from Turkey and other Islamic countries if needed.
Anees Ahmed says, “Neither do we have any concept of Ghazwa-e-Hind, nor do we want to make India an Islamic country, nor is the killing of Hindus part of our agenda. Named ‘India 1947, Empowering People’ The draft Hai Sure, which was prepared by the ‘Empower India Foundation’, was released on the 50th anniversary of India’s independence by eminent judge Justice Rajinder Sachar in Delhi.”
On being called a terrorist organization, Anees Ahmed says, “To be a terrorist organization there must be evidence of involvement in terrorist activity. None of the charges that have been proved against PFI have been related to terrorist activity.”
RSS is a Terrorist Organization
Anees Ahmed says, “There was a blast at the Dargah in Ajmer in India in which there was an investigation against senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar, the name was also in the chargesheet, the Malegaon case was also investigated, such organizations and individuals should not be called terrorists. But if the name of a person associated with PFI in any local criminal activity is being called a terrorist organization, it is not right.
The criminal incidents in which the name of PFI has come up have not always been minor.
In 2010, the palm of Malayalam professor TJ Joseph was chopped off with an ax, who was accused of sacrilege the Prophet Muhammad. Later, the people who were sentenced in this case by the court also included the people of PFI.
A few years ago, in the murder of Left student leader Abhimanyu in Ernakulam, Kerala, a chargesheet was also filed against many PFI officials.
Anees Ahmed admits that some PFI activists were involved in the attack on Professor Joseph but according to him it was ‘a local incident’, soon after “the then top leadership of PFI made it clear by holding a press conference in Delhi that the institution’s involvement in this incident” Has nothing to do with it.”
