RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has courted another controversy by making a very controversial claim that the ‘saffron flag’ can become the national flag if Hindus unite.
“It can and should happen if Hindu society comes together,” the RSS leader said during a massive foot march for Hindu unity organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Karnika Koragajja dargah in Kuttar on the outskirts of Mangaluru. “Which flag was before the present tricolor flag?” The British flag existed before.
Our country’s flag used to be a green star and moon,” he continued. “If the majority of people in Parliament and Rajya Sabha vote in favor of changing the national flag, then we can change the flag,” explained Dr. Bhat.
However, at the end of the program, Prabhakar Bhat said that he would respect the national flag, which he claims was finalized to appease the minority community. Similarly, he said that the national anthem was completed after rejecting Vande Mataram.
They claim that the hijab dispute is a form of jihad. Students are encouraged to choose hijab to overbook by organizations like Popular Front of India.
He finds it strange that some Muslim girls insist on wearing the hijab in class when women like Sania Mirza and writer Sara Abubakar are against it.
According to him, the closure of shops by Muslim traders in protest against the recent Karnataka High Court verdict on hijab incites communal discord, and such action amounts to sedition.
Appreciating the Gujarat government’s decision to teach Bhagavad Gita in classes VI to X, Bhat said that the state government of Karnataka should also muster up the courage to implement it in schools.
They believe that the Bhagavad Gita should be taught in schools, while the Quran and Bible should be taught in homes.
