A 7-month-old boy, who was allegedly abducted from Mathura railway station in Uttar Pradesh on 24th last week, has been recovered from the house of Firozabad BJP councilor Vinita Agarwal on Sunday.
A total of eight people including her, her husband Krishna Murari Agarwal have been arrested in this case. A doctor couple is also among those caught.
The Indian Express reported that Vinita Agarwal (44) and her husband Krishna Murari Agarwal (51) had allegedly paid Rs 1.80 lakh to a gang involved in child trafficking.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) has told that the doctor couple Dr Prem Bihari (38) and his wife Dr Dayawati (38) were running a racket of child trafficking. Others arrested include Deep Kumar (40), Poonam (43), Manjeet (43) and Vimlesh (38).
Prem Bihari and Dayawati run a hospital in Hathras, while Vimlesh and Poonam are ANMs.
Amar Ujala has written quoting the police that in the interrogation of the arrested people, it was found that the BJP councilor is not the son of Vinita Agarwal, so they had bought this child. The incident was captured on CCTV when the recovered child was stolen from the station. With the help of CCTV, the police reached the criminals.
SP Mohammad Mushtaq said, “Deep Kumar Sharma, a member of the child thief gang, took away Radha’s seven-month-old child from Mathura Junction. He talked to ANM Poonam and Vimlesh, who worked for the child theft gang for the hospital in Hathras. The ANM informed about the child’s arrival to BJP councilor Vinita Agarwal and her husband Krishna Murari Agarwal, who bought the child.
Agra GRP SP Mohammad Mushtaq said, “All the eight people were produced in the court on Monday, after which they were sent to jail. The gang had sold the child for Rs 1.80 lakh.”
While GRP (Mathura) SHO Sushil Kumar said, “Radha Devi had lodged a case against unknown persons for abducting her seven-month-old son from platform number 8 of Mathura railway station on August 24.”
