Violence erupted in Karnataka’s Shimoga town last week over the installation of flex boards of Veer Savarkar by RSS and Tipu Sultan by Local’s. Due to the violence, the police had to lathi-charge against the protesters.
Now AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement comparing Tipu-Savarkar has come on this issue. Owaisi has compared Tipu Sultan and Veer Savarkar in his statement.
He said, “Tipu Sultan’s ring was auctioned for one lakh 45 thousand pounds and what was written on that ring… Ram’s name was written on that ring. So the auction company wrote that it is a matter of wonder that a Muslim emperor has such a ring. So what did this reveal… It turned out that Tipu was not against Hindus. He was against the British. Tipu was against every religion that wanted to accept the slavery of the British.
He said in his address, “But Tipu did not want to accept the slavery of the British. Tipu wanted to free this country from the slavery of the British. Tipu Azim Mujahideen e Azadi is of this India. That is why the framers of the constitution have put Tipu’s photo with the queen of Jhansi in the first book of the Constitution of India. So those who are arguing about Tipu and Savarkar today, then where is the land and where is the sky. There can be no match with Tipu. He had sacrificed everything to make this country free.
Owaisi further said, “There are some people in this Watan-e-Aziz who hate Tipu Sultan and want to erase Tipu Sultan’s sacrifice. Tipu fought with the British four times and Savarkar wrote a letter of apology to the British four times. This is the difference between Tipu and Savarkar.”
